Need more details, exactly what are you connecting to what and with what cables/devices?

Make sure to set the resolution of the second display on your computer to the native resolution of the TV (not the max resolution it can display).
Most TVs will overscan the picture so that there are not blanks areas at the edges of the display. You can check your TV manual to see if there is a setting that will let you turn this off. Sometimes called 1;1. You may not be able to correct for this. Computer monitors don't do this.
