IVS from RTV4050 to a RTV 5040

I can add each others address to the Address Book. But can not send a
show to each other. I get a communacation error. Should I be able to
send a show to each other?

No, The 4000 and 5000 series cannot talk to each other. An upgrade was
promised to remedy the situation but that was dropped. Instead, all who
owned both a 4000 and 5000 series were given an opportunity to trade one
or the other in at no cost so they'd have either 2 4000's or 2 5000's. I
took advantage of that myself and traded a 4160 for a 5160 to match my
newer 5040. That program ended 9/30/03.
