key seems to be stuck and cannot find a solution

i use emulators to play my favorite games. i use an xbox 360 remote. remote has stopped working. when i try to map the buttons, it says key #255 is being pressed repeatedly. i use an external keyboard, but it still does this when it is unplugged. tried uninstalling drivers. downloaded a keyboard tester and it says it is the wake button being pressed every 10 ms. i can find no solution to this anywhere. can not play any emulators

By the sound of things the button has been damaged. It would be best to buy a new one.
