Labtop done for?

I got on my laptop yesterday and everything was gone, my files, everything except the two things I downloaded the day before, quicktime and a .MOV to .Avi program, but now I can't even download a program. My virus protection won't remove anything.

My laptops a compaq CQ57 windows 7.

"everything".. yet you managed log on? so Win 7 is still "on" and working?
So that's not "everything was gone".. so can you be a bit more specific...

So I logged on like normal, my ID picture and password were the same, but when I opened my userfile my files were gone, my my iTunes was new, no music. My background is black and I can't download any files.

Anyone want to chip in?
