Hi all!
I've picked up an old Compaq Presario v6000 (to be exact; an v6202ea model)
It standard came with an terrible Celeron 430 (1.7Ghz, 1mb cache and 533 mhz fsb, single core.)

In order to run Windows and Skype a little smoother (since it is for my mom) I wanted to upgrade it with an dual core CPU. After I've done my homework, I ordered an Core Duo t2350 (1.8ghz dual core, 2mb cache and 533mhz fsb). I've seen that HP did sell the v6000 with exact this CPU, also socket and fsb are the same. So I figured this would work just fine.

Well, it didn't. Screen stayed black with the Core Duo installed but worked fine with the Celeron installed. So I upgraded the bios F.16 to F.2E, but still it wouldn't work. I examined the bios with Phoenix Bios Pro editor, but couldn't find anything CPU related. Still I must be missing something here, as I'm sure it has to be bios related.

Any help would be really appreciated!
