Hello ok after doing some research, and I found some stuff, the T7700 will work, but so should the T8000 and T9000 series of C2D also, Since the GL960 chipset that comes in the laptop you have is the same as a GM965 chipset, the only difference being it support of celeron dual cores and pentium dual cores, Here a list I found http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_(chipsets)/GL960_Express.html of cpu that should work on and here a link to a guy who was able to successfully upgrade to a T8100 on you laptop, http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/extensa-5620-cpu-upgrade.251691/
If you are able to get the T8000 I will highly suggest it. I also still use a Core 2 duo laptop and used both T7000 and T8000 chips and I have to say the T8000 is better in terms of heat and in general. Also Q9000 and T9900 will not work the max is T9500. I had people say the T9900 with GMA965 will work but after I never hear back from them. but the x9000 may work since the GL960 is the same to GMA965 but it not worth it and may not work cause of the bios.
