Whenever I am twitching on stream and playing games like garrys mod on my laptop it just goes to a black screen and just shuts down and tells me that it overheated. It later shuts down and needs to cool down after turning it on again. Also I am wondering where my intake and exhaust vents are in my laptop? I know there are vents in the bottom of my laptop but I don't know if they are intake or exhaust vents since I can't find any other vents in my laptop besides the ones on the bottom

I also tried using a laptop cooler which I find is weak and is probably not blowing enough cold air into my laptop..Here is the link to the cooler: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/targus-dual-fan-chill-mat-gray-black/5570134.p?id=1218663133979&skuId=5570134

Solution
Typically a laptop takes in air from the bottom and exhausts air out the back or the side. Have you been able to monitor, or even log, the laptop's temperature with software? (You can do this with utilities like HWiNFO or HWMonitor.)
