laptop keyboard not working after using wireless keyboard

I purchased an HP Pavilion (Windows 10) laptop a month ago in February 2018. After installing a J5Create (model JUD380) to hook up an external monitor I plugged in the dongle for the Logitech keyboard into the J5Create. After a week or so I unplugged the J5Create and the keyboard does not work at all, even when attempting to log into the PC upon waking from sleep. I unplugged the J5Create, uninstalled the J5 driver and rebooted the computer three times. The laptop keyboard is still not working. I checked the drivers for the keyboard attempting to change the driver being used from the Control Panel > Keyboard to no effect. I'm at a loss where to go next.
