So my laptop makes clicking noises every time I turn it on and when it eventually does, the laptop only shows me the Toshiba logo then asks me to put in a disc or CD. I made a Windows 8 CD so I could reinstall windows but once it I come to the part where it asks me which drive I want to install it on I can't see my 600 GB HDD. Does this mean my HDD is damaged and I would have to replace it with a new one?

According to the clicks you can compare them to Datacent's Dying HDD Sound Library, and yes, it's probably dead. To prevent further damage I recommend plugging it out
