Hey guys.

I have an MSI CR420 (I'll put a link of the specs below) which is quite old already. Today I encountered a problem where it boots up until the "starting windows" screen and then it shows the mouse cursor then it turns off. Even when going to the BIOS. It shuts down too.

Btw, the battery is damaged so I have to plug it directly to the power outlet with the charger.

Solutions I've tried:
■ Used only 1 RAM.
■ Used an Windows 7 OS disc to access the "Repair my computer" But same thing happens. Upod reaching the "Windows loading files" it turns off.
■ Booted to safe mode. Yet again, after loading some drivers, it randomly turns off again.

Specs:
CPU - Intel Core i5 430M
VGA - Intel GMA HD
LCD - 14" HD 1366x768 (Glare Type)
Memory - DDR3 4GB
HDD - SATA 250GB

Hi,

It seems like a power issue, please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help. I would suggest trying a different AC adapter that has the voltage and see if your laptop will stay on. Next to try is to boot the laptop into BIOS and see if it will still shutdown or not. If the laptop will still shut down, I would suggest replacing the AC adapter first with a new one.
