Laptop Overheating?

I don't have any specific temps, but let's just say my laptop is usually a desktop or tabletop, since I can't place it on my thighs anymore. Even when I'm wearing jeans, the heat cooks my skin through the denim!

Personally, I don't mind the heat's effects on me. I am worried about its effects on my laptop. Anyone got a good temperature measuring tool?

Also, is there a place where I can find out the "normal" temps for my laptop?

Check SpeedFan,

it can measure and log temperature of many components (CPU, HDD ets.)

Thanks for the ik242. So I just make sure my aggregate temp stays below the laptop's "operating temperature"?
