I was wondering if you could help me out with a problem I've been having/
I recently purchased a motherboard for my old Compaq CQ57, and I need a new
processor as well. Could you please advise me on the processor type for
this MB?

The MB part number is 646275-001 and on the socket it says rPGA 989

Are Intel i3-330m or i3-350m compatible?

And if anyone would be kind enough to provide me with the rest of the
compatible processors.

Solution
Well the i3 and i5 and i7 dual core will 95% run. Best i3 is i3-380M, best i5 is i5-580M, best i7 is i7-640M. No guarantee if the quad cores will run however.
No idea if the motherboard itself supports higher TDP, any idea what was the last CPU that ran on this motherboard or what laptop it was taken from? But generally it supports those 2 i3s, some i5s and even i7s

So, it's like this. My old MB died and I ordered a MB that was compatible with it but did not check the part number, so I received a MB that was compatible with the laptop but not the old processor which was rPGA988. So I decided to get a new processor instead of returning the MB. Now I'm in a search of a new processor.

At least do you have a manufacturer, or any access to the bios? Or is it a Compaq motherboard again? Also you have basically downgraded with that motherboard.

It's a Compaq. But when I tried booting the laptop with the new MB and the old CPU it wouldn't boot at all. So I figured that they are incompatible and am scouting for a new CPU because they are relatively cheap, and want to find one compatible with the new MB.
