I restarted my computer to apply an update to my AV software and my laptop monitor turned to a mess after the restart happened. The native resolution was 1600x900 but it's now unable to go higher than 1024x768. Now, the top 10% of the screen is repeated on the bottom portion of the screen and is now a nice pink color.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the display adapter, as well as as updating my graphics driver to the newest version. Is there anything I can do?

Because I have Windows 10, Display Settings in the Settings app show that I'm running a the laptop monitor at 1024x768. Under the Display tab in Control Panel, it locked the screen at a 1024x768 setting, even though I can change the resolution at the Settings menu.

Well, it looks like the problem is the laptop screen joint that holds the screen in place. The display wire was crushed under the joint and broke. That's unfortunate.
