my laptop is an MSI GE72 6QF i had it for like 3 months now and i noticed that as time goes on its temperature gets higher and higher .. like right now when it is idle the gpu would be 45+ degree celsius and the cpu would be 50+ degree celsius and when gaming it used to not pass 70 degree celsius on both gpu and cpu but now it gets to 80+ and especially cpu and motherboard it's always higher temp .. motherboard is like 85 degree celsius now when gaming it wasn't like that before and btw i have a fan under the laptop so temperatures are probably much higher without it .. why is that and what should i do .. i have to say that a month ago i downloaded a newer bios version and went with the exact instructions to update it and shortly after that i start to notice the second fan running even when i'm not gaming and temperatures getting hotter.. so i think it has something to do with it but don't know how to revert it or what to do and i'm afraid of pulling apart the laptop to clean it so i don't break or do something even more bad

If you update the bios for your laptop.

It is possible that with the new bios firmware, changes where made to the fan profiles, and duty cycles of the fans of the laptop.

In relation to when, and what rpm speed they should start spinning at when a set tempreture target is reached for your cpu and Gpu in the laptop.

May I ask why you upgraded the bios firmware of the laptop.
Was there anything wrong with the laptop with the current version of the bios firmware that it had ?

What I mean to say is the older bios firmware, may of had profiles where the fans were set to kick in at much lower temps of the cpu and gpu in the laptop. so it kept ahead of keeping the cpu and gpu cooler.

where they were set to spin up at a higher rpm at a much lower reading of the temps of the cpu and gpu.

There is and old saying if things go wrong, or are not right undo the last change you made.

In your case if there was nothing wrong with the prior bios Firmware revert back to it.

So I hope you saved the old bios file, before you flashed the bios with a different version of the bios firmware.

Your suspicions are correct.
So you need to find a way of getting the old bios firmware revision flashed back to the bios rom.
