Laptop Unable to switch between Ac adapter and Battery

I have Asus G551JW.
If i remove charger the computer will run on Battery and if i plug the charger back again, it wont charge battery and neither computer will run on ac power (computer does not shows any notification that its on AC Adapter) . to make it run again on battery i would have to remove charger from wall plug and also disconnect wire from adapter and then remove battery and then connect wire to Ac adapter, then wall plug, then to laptop and then insert battery and it will turn on Ac power but again it wont charge battery and if i remove charger i would have to do the entire process again

Hello... How Old is the battery in it?

Typically a battery is constructed of harmful, Volatile materials/chemicals... there are safety features incorporated into the charging system to detect a un-safe condition.

Same as laptop .. almost 2 year old.. i was working good ,, before i opened my laptop because its GPU was throttling and i applied new thermal paste buy i dint see much difference ,, i closed it after but now this charging problem emerged
