Laptop won\'t boot and has blank display until VGA is uninstalled

my laptop had a broblem so i had to format it and insatll new windows vsta hoem premium. After insatllation i downloaded vga drivers to install and after insatlling and tried booting the laptop the screen turned black. I then boot trhough safe mood to unistall the vga drivers before i could boot normally. I have tried different vga drivers for my nvidia geforce go 7400 and still i end up unistalling it before i can boot my laptop. Please how can i resolve this problem. thank you

To say the least, Vista is a strange animal !
Windows has VGA support embedded when you install it. Why do you have to d/l other VGA drivers ?
