Solved! Latency Caused by sound card software? - Sound Blasterx AE-5

uninstalled, removed all folders, installed again in safe mode windows 10 x64
noticed that if I use NONE of the voice settings, all disabled i can hear my mic with no latency
once one of those are selected there is 5 - 10 second latency in the mic
so why not just disable them.. cause for some reason the mic sounds like its in a tin can, its a gxl 2200 mic into a mixer into sound card.. if I select smart volume under voice options it sounds so much fuller and the way its supposed too.. but at least i have found out how to have no latency.. just does not make any sense.. i dont like the software at all.. its so buggy
its the sound blaster connect 2
under setup i have Direct HP selected and on mixer microphone is selected

have uninstalled other sound drivers, disabled onboard sound via bios

if I use a daw like audacity no matter what driver i choose, asio4all, default, asio
makes no difference as far as the delay goes
can someone please explain to me why a brand new sound card is having trouble recording vocals or monitoring the mic but 10 years ago with a creative x-fi i could do it just fine

so, i dont know how but right now its fixed.. it had/has something to do with the sound card driver, this time the only thing different I did was uninstall ae5 and all sound drivers from device manager, and ran a hardware scan and then installed drivers manually, pointed to my own and chose ae5 and then went to audio options and updated the driver auto and it said to try updating via windows update.. did that..
restarted.. for some reason the connect 2 control panel didnt load so I loaded it manually
and went to use the mic and it had ZERO latency.. which it has done that a few times.. but then as soon as I add any sound effects its like it messes up the driver and the latency starts again.. even if I disable the sound effect.. mic...

Great, glad it's fixed! Problems like that are often driver related. I dropped Creative years ago because of how bad their drivers are.

I thought this would be a good purchase, i had an audigy 2 zs I think is what it was called and an xfi and I remember having slight issues getting them working but then they were solid.. i have had nothing but issues from this sound card, I should have known when i seen it was the first sound card with RGB LMAO
