I am thinking of purchasing an lcd tv for my vacation home.The home is not heated in the winter and temp can drop to zero degrees,will this harm the Liquid Crustals? When home used in winter and temp brought back up to 70 degrees before tv use be ok?

LCD is not likely to get damage but corrosion to the components will be your big concern. If moisture occurs which lead to corrosion could damage any expose electronic components in your vacation home.
One preventative measure is to wrap your TV with blanket, thicker blanket is better. And if TV is anywhere near a concrete flooring; a Plastic wrap is need on top of the blanket and make holes for air to breath if moisture build inside.
Plastic wrapping also prevent any insects find its way to nest inside the TV.
And before turning the TV on – make sure it's completely dry and plug the TV for at least a day before; this will charge the power supply capacitor and condition it a bit before use. However other TV components can only be charge up after TV is turned-on.
