Whoever is converting LDs to DVDs via Tuner card and using AVISynth filters,
I got a question...

What noise reduction to use? The one that found on LD player internally
(just output with noise reduction)... Or output without noise reduction
and use avisynth to clean the noise?

I output without noise reduction and then use the AVIsynth external
filter Dust, which does a really nice job of cleanup while preserving
sharpness.

I say use AviSynth: a noise filter there is selectable, tunable, and
reversible.

For VHS I use PixieDust(limit = 4), followed by fft3dfilter(sigma = 1,
bt = 3) and LimitedSharpen with default parameters. The end result doesn't
have VHS look. It has DVD look.

With LD, I was going to use DegrainMedian filter to remove grains.

And then I was debating whether I should use my VHS noise reduction filters
or output with NR and just use LimitedSharpen (after degrain).

Thanks for feedback.
