Hi, I'm having an issue with my display on my lenovo e420s. I just replaced the motherboard in the laptop. My issue is when I have the display plugged into the motherboard the computer wont turn on at all. when I disconnect the display from the motherboard it will turn on with the fan, harddrive, and processor running just like it normally should. Any ideas? I also have tried plugging into external VGA and nothing shows on the external screen. I haven't tried using HDMI yet but I will give a try when I get home.

Hi,

Is the replacement motherboard the same with the old one? There's very few things you can do:
- First is to try to use a different AC adapter that has the same voltage with yours because it could also be the case.
- If it doesn't work do check the physical appearance of the ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard if it's damaged or not.
- Do already try to reseat the RAM's or swap them from one slot to another.
- If all these will not work I would suggest taking the motherboard back and replace it.
