I have a 4 year old Lenovo W530 workstation class laptop with the Nvidia Quadro K2000M dedicated graphics card. I was wondering if this laptop (which is a quad core) would be suitable for using with a 4k display for photo editing.

Has anyone else tried to use this model video card (or something very similar) with a 4k display? I know I'll probably have to use the DisplayPort connector as I don't think the HDMI on the docking station is fast enough.

I no longer have the W530 but I would suspect running 2 - 4k screens might be a little much for the computer, as I've read the event some of the newer cards can struggle with 4k (like the lower-end GTX 1050 cards). At least this is what I've read--I don't have a 4k display or a video card to test though). Plus given the specs of the Quadro that's in the W530 you might be able to do 4k for non-video/multimedia stuff, but for CAD or anything more than basic stuff (web and email) it might not be able to handle it.
