Hi

I have a Lenovo Y40-80 laptop. I am not happy with the keyboard it comes - its too flat. I would like to replace that with something more un-flat like the one in ThinkPad...

Is it possible? If so,suggestions?

Thanks

Hi,

Unfortunately that wouldn't be possible if you'll be using a different keyboard design. First, it may not fit into the motherboard and where the screws goes in and seconds the size and shape may be different as well.

Here's a sample of a replacement keyboard of your laptop

Have you also tried a keyboard cover that may give it more shape so it won't be too flat?

Hi

Thank you for taking the time to give me such specific answer. Unfortunately though, both of them won't work for me.

However, I would like to replace my laptop now. Could you suggest what is the type of the keyboard and its layout I need to look for?

I am unable to find a specific word for it. Let me give you a sample one - I would like to know the name of such keyboards. Are they called mechanical? I am not sure..
