Hi there,
So my laptop just suddenly died one day. I am getting now power at all no LEDs or anything. I opened it up to find that one of the power mosfets was getting really hot when I plugged in the power supply so i figured it was bust. I replaced this mosfet but the new one is also getting very hot and its output is shorting to ground. Should I buy another mosfet and replace it again or could it be something else. I kinda figured that if something is getting really hot that something is the issue but I dont know anymore. Any ideas. Thanks

Hi. If the mosfet is replaced and its getting hot then look for voltage controller or power switching IC nearby. I deal always with this kind of problems. When a mosfet goes bad most of the time another one nearby is also blown or short. A voltage controller looks faulty to me thats why its making the mosfet hot or blown.
