Lenovo Z51-70 not recognising dedicated AMD graphics card

My laptop has an M375 4GB Graphics card, using AMD system monitor the GPU is constantly at 0%. Processor is an i7 5500U and I have 16GB of ram.
Things I have tried:

  ■ Calling/emailing AMD, Lenovo, and Microsoft, none of them could help.
  
  ■ Installing uninstalling drivers etc.
  
  ■ Going into AMD Radeon settings and setting all of the powerplay/switchable graphics settings to max performance.
  
  ■ Setting the laptop's power mode to max performance.
  
  ■ Had a look in the BIOS
  
  ■ looked at 4 or so tomsguide threads that have been solved and tried all of the things in there and they haven't helped.
  
  ■ Just tried this one (all the answers) and still nothing.
  

At a bit of a loss, if anybody has any ideas I would massively appreciate it.

It has never worked, and the laptop is about 9-10 months old

Laptop using other graphics card and not the AMD one.

First you need to get it to detect and use the right card.

A. Uninstall, and then reinstall, the latest graphics card driver.
B. Make sure that your AMD graphics card is set as the default graphics card.

Here's the steps on how to set it to default.

1. Open the "Control Center".
2. Select "Manage 3D Settings" under 3D Settings.
3. Click on the "Program Settings" tab and select the program you want to choose a graphics card for from the drop down list.
4. Now select "preferred graphics processor" in the drop down list. (You can see what the automatic option is listed as global setting) If you want to use the dedicated graphics card, select High-performance AMD processor.

Once it is running on the right one, test the system again and see if the problem persists.


For ATI/AMD graphics cards the process varies.

You may need to open graphics then PowerPlay and set plugged in and/or battery to maximize performance.

You can also try going to graphics then 3D and move the slider to performance. Your computer may also have a switchable graphics tab where you can change the settings for individual programs.

Seen that copy and paste a few times on my search for an answer and it has done nothing. It is AMD so there is no control centre and the numbered instructions are useless to me.

The equivalent for and is to put everything to max power/max performance, and as I said in the original post, I have already tried this.

Could there be something defective or damaged with it?

I really hope it isn't broken! I may give lenovo another call, see what they recommend.
