Hi all,

my wife's Lifebook has apparently a broken power socket - when connecting the power adapter (which functions fine, tested with other devices), nothing happens. The repair specialist diagnosed a physically broken power connector, but estimated 100€ minimum for the repair, so I wanna give it a try by myself. Unfortunately, I am stuck already at the "open the chassis" stage - removing all screws did not do the trick...

Does anyone have a description on "how to open the chassis of a AH531"?

Many thanks in advance
Best regards

Nah, I'm okay with soldering, but apparently the chassis is held together by some plastic clips which I'm afraid to break (and these are different for every make and model), therefore trying to find some descriptions on it.

I continued to look for the solutions on the net and finally found the defect and the way how to fix it. Very instrumental was the following article: http://busifix.co.uk/fujitsu-lifebook-ah531-power-problem/, and also a "how to replace keyboard on AH531" video found on YouTube.

My (wife's) notebook had the same issue with the power connector (broken cable), so no SMD soldering required. Could be repaired by a child - if only the child had some heat-shrink at hand. Too bad hardware stores are closed on Sunday here.
