Lightweight Chromium variant?

Does such a thing exist? If so, I'd like an example or two, because no Chromium variant I've tried has been significantly less resource intensive than Chrome itself. I understand that it's mostly unavoidable, due to the way Chrome/Chromium is programmed, but I thought I'd ask for help anyway, just in case.

Google Chrome is based on Chromium, and it is expected that they have optimized the code to full extent. Unless someone starts crippling features from Chromium, you should not expect "lightweight" version of it.
