liteon pa-1131-05 notebook adapter buzzing

I can hear a relatively loud buzzing from my notebook adapter (liteon pa-1131-05) when its plugged in electricity and the notebook is turned off... Is that normal or is there anything I can do about it or is it faulty?

This is not normal! The buzzing is coming from the transformer inside the AC Adapter. This happens when the transformer laminations are not assembled tightly. In addition to the buzzing, it will also create increased heat.

Replace the AC Adapter; do not continue to use the one that is buzzing.
