How much do you want to spend? What are the pc specs thst will be doing the streaming? Where on the internet are you streaming too?
It is for a non-profit (church). We want to keep spending low. Less than $200... Is that possible?
We were going to use a Laptop with 8 GB Ram and an i3 Processor. Not sure where we will stream... Maybe Youtube.. Maybe Ustream
I would love some suggestions!
That Cannon is a nice camera... It is one recommended by the following...
Try creating a YouTube Channel as a business / church... You will find a trail/free version of Wire Cast For YouTube... (be sure you down load the YouTube version) The Telestream will work but the free version has a watermark both audio and video. Get through the learning curve before you invest in a version...
I have recently started the learning curve myself with this... The Wire Cast is upgradeable to many cameras fade in / transitions etc. Limited in the free version.
I have an older Panasonic HD handheld with a 1394 output... I run this into an express card to a laptop via 400/800 fire wire. The factory chipset is not as fast as the fire wire.
One issue I have run into is we are on the outskirts of town, a little slow on the streaming side... however Wire Cast has the ability to delay the stream view. You may see the signal say weak or dropped, but it will keep uploading. it will only be jerky to the outside world... this is where the 30 or 60 second delay will allow to upload somewhat before viewing...

My audio is connected directly from the left and right 1/4" outputs on the sound board / XLRs go to FOH Use headphones from XA20 jack to monitor sound levels... If you only want to capture the message and not the music you can use an AUX Output for only the pastors mic.
Also, For the safety of the church, check and purchase an add on Copy Write Usage, You may already have one tied into your ShowSong Plus or what ever you may be using for your projection.
