I had headphones for my xbox that would automatically feedback the microphone into the headset so when you were talking you could hear yourself speak, like you do when not wearing headphones. My headphones dont do this and I have "listen to this device" checked for my microphone but the delay really bothers me. I cannot find anyway online and I have searched alot. Is there a software I can use? Something external I could buy? Thanks.

if you had an analog mic audio interfaces / mixers can do this. professionals use such interfaces (though typically the high cost ones) all the time to monitor their voice live while recording without any delay.

could try one of the various workarounds people have tried. it has worked for some people.. but i cant promise anything http://burianek.com/blog/archives/513 is one example. you will still have a delay but you might be able to reduce it.

Thank you this works! For some reason my default playback device didn't have the option to unmute my mic. But once i changed the playback device to one with an option to unmute it, it works good without delay!
