This sounds a lot like a compatibility issue.
Just go to your TV's manual and check what are the life formats that it supports(Fat32, NTFS, etc.) You can check what is the file format of your WD drive if you just go to Disk Management as well.
In case your Vivo TV supports Fat32 but not NTFS, while your HDD's format is NTFS, you will need to reformat it.(keep in mind that this is a data destructive process and you need to back up all the data stored on it before that). Keep in mind that Fat32 has some limitations(file size limit 4 GB).
I guess it will not hurt to test the drive with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool:
