Looking for software for putting pictures and videos together?

Hi all..

Well i was looking on internet and i cant find a good software that makes awesome slideshow of pictures and videos.
I making a dvd of my sisters first birthday and i want to make it very nice with music some great slideshow of pictures at the beginning and then video. Something like how they make wedding dvds and such.

I had one software that saw pretty good but i forgot the name and im not good in Adobe after effects. I need a good software as one they use to make wedding dvds.

Can anyone help me? Do you know some good programs that can do just that?

MS Movie Maker comes with Windows, PowerPoint or another presentation software will work. OpenOffice has a free version, and Office has a free trial to play with.
