Low output volume to speakers from ps4

Hi guys, I have a pair of BeoPlay s8 speakers and I usually use them on my PC over a toslink cable from the connection hub on S8 to my motherboard. Sound is very loud and I cannot play at 100%.

So now I am trying to use them on my PS4. Only way I have got it working is PS4 to my monitor with hdmi and then my monito to the s8 connection hub with 3.5mm cable to 3.55mm cable. Issue is that sound is very low even with PS4 volume maxed, in game volume maxed and tv volume maxed. (The speakers have to volume controls and when hooked up this way they are controlled with the monitor volume settings)

Is there some way to increase sound output or a better way to hook things up.

Monitor has - hdmi,dp,3.5mm headphone jack and USB

Beoplay s8 connection hub has - toslink and 3.5 jack

PS4 slim has - hdmi and USB

usb audio interace would probably be your best bet?

EDIT: try one of these, this way you get an optical out too!

HDMI in, HDMI out the other side, and will extract the audio in between!
