hi can anybody help... i tried to unlock my sempron 140 and can see that it changes to a dual core but when i reboot system i just get a blank screen any ideas on were i'm going wrong

Not all semprons can unlock successfully....most probably the other core was defective in your case. Bad luck

problem is that bios shows it as unlocked and as it hits windows screnn turns blank and just sit there idoling

The core will unlock successfully. Thing is the BIOS has no idea if the unlocked core is defective or not.

In your case, its clear that the unlocked core is unstable cause it doesn't even let you boot into windows
You can try reducing the clock frequency, or over-volting the chip to see if the 2nd core becomes stable, but i highly doubt it.
