Mac OS won't run when i make it as n internal drive

i want to start a fresh installation of Mac Sierra i did from recovery on a new hardrive, which i used it as an external drive
so it all worked fine, it completed fully, but when i insert it, to make it an internal drive, it fails to boot, again when i connect it as an external it works fine

Might be a faulty SATA cable. I see a lot of these fail on MacBook Pro's.
