What baffles me is that companies and the government will all pay out the ransom money. Just absolutely ridiculous. If people really had critical data, they should be backing it up on multiple external storages, and it's their fault if they don't. I've seen many instances of ransomware where these average-Joe people who do nothing on their computer other than email actually pay out the ransom, when they could just wipe the HDD and reinstall Windows, since they have nothing important on their drives anyway. And if they do, that's their fault for not backing it up.
