I'm currently looking at the Sager NP8651 on XoticPC, which is basically the cheapest PC I could get with a GTX 970M. Fully configured with a 512 MB SSD it comes to ~$1400.
However, I am not as huge of a gamer as I used to be. I am studying abroad next semester and I plan on spending time traveling and hanging out with new people. But there will still be times when I just want to relax and play some games.
Still, I am willing to give that up for better value and experience. My friend recommended that I get a Macbook Pro. The 13 inch variant with a 256 GB SSD and an i7 is $1700. I'd scoff at these specs, but I plan on using the laptop I buy for the next 4 years at least.
From what I've seen, Macbooks retain value much better than PCs and they seem to have better longevity. Not to mention Apple support is pretty good.
However, is it worth it? Also, are there other gaming laptops in this price range that would give me a significantly better experience (whether it be battery life, mobility, design, etc.)?
