How would I go about encrypting my traffic from my pc to the wifi router so that my search terms and traffic can't be read in case of man in the middle attack?
Basically I see that my pc's name, and IP are monitored on the router, which I don't mind, I however don't want my traffic left for snoopsters. Can I encrypt all traffic from my pc through the router and to the DNS of my provider? I don't mind if my provider knows my search terms, I just don't want my router to have access to it.

Easy - use a VPN and set it up on your computer rather than the router. That being said, it's doubtful that you have anything to worry about. MiM attacks are very rare and only used against specific targets.
