Maximum memory bandwidth for my laptop

Currently i have a single 4GB stick of 1600mhz ram in my laptop,however,the maximum bandwidth my cpu can handle is DDR4-2133.

How do i find out the maximum my mobo can support?
My CPU is an i5-6300HQ.

If you look at the Intel ARK page for that processor -- http://ark.intel.com/products/88959/Intel-Core-i5-6300HQ-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_20-GHz You will see that it supports different types of memory DDR4, and DDR3L You laptop may only use DDR3L rather than DDR4.

You have to take a look at the model of your laptop. But, considering you have DDR3, and most probably it is DDR3L, that CPU's max DDR3L memory speed is 1600MHz. Try to get the same memory model in order to maximize the compatibility.

I have a custom built PC specialist laptop which says the maximum amount of ram I can install is 16GB(there are two modules),thats not my problem.i just want to know if the motherboard can support the speeds as the CPU can.
