Media Player freezes during Playback

I have 3 media playback devices attached to my TV and linked via home network to my PC.

They are an Optus Fetch unit, a Panasonic Blue Ray player with media playback DMR-PWT520 capability and a Philips Media Centre.HMP5000.

Quite regularly when playing back a media file of multiple types we get to approximately the same point, about 45 minutes in and the video playback freezes.
I then have to shut down the playback device to get it to play again.

My computer is about 4 years old with 4GB RAM.

Do you think it might be the computer running out of processing power that is causing the video playback to stop.

It seems to freeze at approximately the same time with any file.

I am playing back my file on a Panasonic TV.

It is clearly related to the temperature of the play back device try to keep the device ventilated and do not keep it on top of any other device

The media device is well ventilated and it happened in winter and summer.The PC is well ventilated and checking HD temperature files I see no spikes in the readings on the PC.
