So for some reason, my mic/ audio splitter isn't picking up my microphone on my PC;only audio. Even when I only plugged in the microphone jack it still only picked up audio. So then I tried doing the same thing on my phone and for some reason it picked up the microphone!!The splitter does have a TRRS female and I'm pretty sure my earphone plug is also TRRS.I think the 2 male plugs are TRS. I'm wondering if you guys know why this is happening and how to fix it.

If you are on about a set of earphones that have a mic on as well that you use with a mobile phone for example.

If you look at the 2.5mm end of them you will see it has, or should have three ringed lines on the gold plated jack end.

You will notice that on the splitter for the mic and headset that there are only two black or white bands.

Have you tried pressing the button on the headphone and mic set of ear buds.
When connected to the pc via the splitter. like you would do if you were answering a phone call with your earphones in.

If it does not work, other than it being a separate mic and speakers see if there is an option for communication device.
if it`s listed in windows right click and set it as a default device and the mic should work.

I have tried pressing the button on my earphones and all I get is a loud click sound which the sound panel indicates that the microphone picked up(which I also hear through my earphones), but that's all it does. the splitters both have 2 black bands on them, so i guess they are TRS? And for the sound panel, the only thing it has for communication is lowering the volume of other sounds. These earphones work perfectly with a phone but I'm trying to use these with a computer.
