Hello,
Recently I purchased a Modmic 5 along with a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 990 PROs. I had to pickup a external DAC to rid my headphones of terrible static, however the new mic it picks up a horrible whine when plugged directly into the port on my PC. Is there a audio interface that would allow me to plug both the headphones and the Mic into it at the same time. Any suggestions would be appreciated in the price range of 50-80 pounds.
Or any suggestions that can rid me of these problems.
Note I have tried a USB adaptor however all of the USB ports on my machine are plagued with static also having tried USB headsets again picking up static.
Also is this a problem with my motherboard audio, due to it not being high quality?
Thanks Ben.

So the static on the USB adapter sounds the same as the others? Have you tried unplugging all other USB devices (that you can) and then recording to see if the EMI decreases? We just need to isolate if its your motherboard, electricity, or USB devices.

Also make sure AGC is on for your USB device.

After testing unplugging other USB devices, try unplugging everything but your monitor and power supply. If you can, remove the power strip/surge protector. See if that cleans it up.

If its still sounding like crap...

Well, you can try the Soundblaster E1 maybe in that budget range? Im not sure if the E3 is any better or not and I don't know if the E1 or E3 have a good mic port.

Also, what USB do you have? We recommend either ours or the CM-UAUD from Syba.
