Microsoft: Google Not Serious About Business Apps

I use both and can concur that Google office offerings are indeed no match for Microsoft Office.

I use Google in a pinch but for work I use Microsoft Office.

Google's wanton need of personal information even when drilling into the Terms of Services scares off business too.

Companies go in with the mind set Google is tracking them then need to drill down into their conditions to satisfy the naysayers in the company, where the reverse is true for Microsoft.

It's just a shame Microsoft isn't doing a better job both at the personal and enterprise level to market how their services and products are not tracking personal information and data hording them back to their servers.

Good morning Mrs Julia, with 8 Microsoft turned in an advertising company too.
But unlike Google, it is not successful in this...

Google can certainly up their game and get more serious about business apps. They've got their foot in the door. Microsoft can criticize Google's offerings all they want, but when they leave the door wide open by omitting features like domain join and dumbing down Office for Metro it gives Google plenty of opportunity to hit Microsoft right where they feel safe and secure. Microsoft used to think their Windows Mobile offerings were safe and secure to Apple and Google's products in that space too. We all know how that turned out. Microsoft should stop being so complacent.

Windows OSD made a "$300 million improvement" for Q3 2012 losing only $479 million compared to the previous $776 million, improving the nine-month loss to $1.45 billion from a previous $1.9 billion loss.

If Office 365, Bing, etc. keep being entirely "serious," soon enough Microsoft will only lose $3 million a day or so on these efforts.

In contrast, Google is obviously not very serious as they keep making profits on this kind of thing.

Microsoft lion's share of benefits is in the corporate division, so no surprise their offers are superior. They spent a lot more R&D in that stuff, plus they have a far longer experience. Google offering are still inferior to OpenOffice/Libreoffice, much less Microsoft Office.

Google Drive is just something to use in a pinch, but to get the job done, you use Office.

Well Google docs is the best offer for multiuser office programs at this moment! Lotus did have these features many years ago, but at this moment if multible porsons have to edit the same dokument, there is very little to chose from...

There is NO comparison between Office 365 and Google Apps.

All major American cities use Office 365, including New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Minnesota and the entire State of California.

In contrast, the only big city using Google Apps, Los Angeles, is current dropping Google for non-fulfillment of contractual obligation.

All HUGE private and public institutions are using OFFICE 365 -- Dept of VA (600,000), SUNY system (700,000), Toyota, Ford, Johnson & Johson, Merck, etc ..

In contrast, Googe Apps are used by the tiny firms and institutions -- Orlando, Pittsburgh, Dept of Interior Design, etc ..

Google has a history of distorting and exaggerating numbers to boost their resuls You have to be very careful using Google statistics.
