Monitor not Picking Up signal After Loading Screen.

I was wanting to get somethings off a Dell Computer of Mine but the Screen doesn't work. So I hooked it up to my Acer Monitor and it workings, but after the Windows Loading Screen, it says it can not Pick up any signal. It is a Dell Inspiron 2600. I don't know Why it is doing, I am just wondering how it is.

Did you try pressing the key combo that cycles thru the various display options (Internal only, Int _Ext, External only)? Its usually the special function key(Fn) plus a function key and the icons are often in blue ink.
