So I am looking for a pair of headphones that are so comfortable that I don't need to take them off. I'm looking at the Sennheiser Game One, but I have an Blue Yeti w/ Boom arm and pop filter. So I don't really need a half-baked mic on the Game one. My ideal headphone is wireless, with very comfortable over the ear, open ear design with uncompromising sound quality. Any ideas?

Thanks,

They can't be found on the sennhesier site or major retailers. Same the audio technica ones.
are you trying to troll me? that certainly would not be advised. i could post the etailer links as well but here are the product pages.

now, if you live in a part of the world where certain products are hard to find, i would think you would let us know what country so we can find products which are available locally and suggest them.

beyerdynamics dt880/dt990 are comfortable. if you can stand the headband which is either love or hate, audiotechnica ad500x/700x/900x are comfortable. mad dogs are said to be comfortable as well

i would suggest against wireless since you limit yourself but thats your choice.

you said you wanted headphones yet looked at headsets. only look at headphones if you need just headphones not a mic. by the way, the game one is based on the hd518/558/598 series so its the same thing for the most part. this lineup is also not bad for comfort though not quite as good as the others listed.

But wasn't that Sennheiser series discontinued in favor of the gaming series

both the game one and hd series of headphones are current. no idea why you would think otherwise as a simple search on amazon would tell you that.

the headsets used to be labeled with g4me not game but afaik the only change was on the zero where impedance was lowered. the game zero is related to the hd555/hd595/pc350se/pc363d while the game one is the hd5*8 lineup.

why would they discontinue a series of headphones just because of a headset? the two products appeal to different markets and are both very popular.

A very subjective question. The only answer is what is the most comfortable to you. I tried 30 headphones before finding ones that I really liked, both sound and comfort. Although you can mod any cushions adding a different material on top, making them more comfortable and deeper. I personally hate headphones where my ears touch the driver cover. I ended up going with the Skullcandy Crushers due to the Sensation55 driver, as these headphones are my dedicated home theater headphones.

I'm personally researchin wireless headphones, but haven't found any yet that I like. I'm leaning towards the noise cancelling Bose QC35. But no AptX made me not buy them, their loss.... My advise is buy nice or buy twice. :)

I will research for you for a bit. I'll update later.

These might be what you're looking for. Entry level noise cancelling, as well as AptX, for less then 200. That's very impressive.

I agree it's a very subjunctive question. I also haven't found anything that I like, when it comes to wireless so I'm doing more research on wired headsets

Thanks,

Jack

Do look for AptX though. I can't tell the difference between AptX and wired, it's really that small, and the low latency is good for using it with displays and while gaming.

What you can do is buy a really good wired headphone, that you can remove the cable for. Then buy a 3.5mm to Bluetooth adapter, which you charge then you can use velcro on the side of your headphone. It won't look great, but it's a decent solution, because then you open up your choices to more headphones, which increases the chance of finding what's comfortable to you. The adapters aren't that big.

The idea here is to switch between wired and wireless whenever you feel like it. A lot of wireless headphones support a cable, but there are less options to choose from.

Example https://www.amazon.co.uk/TECEVO-Bluetooth-Receiver-Streaming-Smartphones/dp/B01CRM16N8/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1466713709&sr=8-12&keywords=3.5mm+to+bluetooth

The only problem is some headphones the 3.5mm adapter might not fit. There are workarounds of course, but just a heads up.

All the best!

MERGED QUESTION
Question from jackjohnson17 : "Sennheiser Gaming one vs HD 598 vs beyerdynamics dt990"

I can tell you this, I went with Sennheiser 598s and sold my Astro A40s, and have never once regretted it. The audio quality, for listening to music, will absolutely blow you away. My grandfather, who swore off audiophile headphones in his 30s due to hearing damage, considered my 598s to be so much better than anything he'd ever heard that he considered buying a pair again.

When it comes to gaming, the soundstage on the 598s is so large that it legitimately feels like you're cheating. It's insane. They're also very light headphones and very, very comfortable - I can wear them for 8 hour gaming sessions and not even notice them at the end of the night. They're also surprisingly cool - I was expecting the velvety material to run hot, but they keep my ears so much cooler than leather pads do. (And hey, the color scheme matches your Noctua fans! That's the sign of a true audiophile. ;p )

I would definitely take the 598s over the Gaming Ones, but I don't have any experience with the dt990s. I'm sure that they're very nice; beyer dynamics makes very good quality headphones... but after a lot of research, I went with the Sennheisers and am glad that I did.
