Most keys on laptop not working

Hello,

Grandpa gave me his laptop to try and fix. Stuck at Windows Error Recovery screen.

At this point, i figure the keyboard is most likely fudged. (i notice up arrow key and enter buttons not working) Asked him if he ever spilled any liquids onto the keyboard. He said no. I have noticed there isn't any sticky keys or anything suggesting that.

So, I plug in a USB keyboard and that seems to work. Press enter, load into windows.

Open notepad to see which keys are working. Only: qtup]j'zvb Numpad(563).

Also went into the region and language settings in control panel and its not set to another language or anything and all that checks out.

Also disconnected keyboard from laptop, gave it a cleaning, aired it out with some compressed air.

Plugged everything back in and no changes.

Is there anything else I should try?

Drivers and everything are up to date? Would double check the wiring, make sure that the connection isn't bad. Past that, though, sounds like you'll probably need to replace the keyboard.
