muteki htm7 hdmi setup

i have just bought a muteki htm7 and was wondering how to setup hdmi without arc i have plugged the hdmi output from the muteki to hdmi input on my tv and it works fine but I just would like to know if this is ok to do or I need to use the optical fibre leads. if so how would I go about doing that.

If it works fine then it is OK. Don't make it complicated if you already have what you want!
