Solved! My camera still says the memory card is protected after I unlocked it

I recently purchased a Fujifilm Finepix S3380. I also purchased a Sandisk 16GB SDHC memory card. The camera says the card is protected, even though it is unlocked. I took the camera to the store I had bought the card at, tried a different card with the same result. Is the camera defective or am I missing something?

U may have a switch or a slider on the microSD memory card to turn off the write-protection.
