My dell vostro 1510 sees cdrom as blank cd

Hello,
i need help. each time i insert a cd-rom with files already written to it, my computer sees it as a blank cd and requests me to burn files to disc. Although it perfect read and write files from and to dvdrom.

Are the CDs Rewrittable?

Maybe the CD drive has different autoplay options.

If they aren't rewrittable, then try burning something to them, it should give you an error saying that they couldn't be burned if was truly already a finalised CD. If not.

They are not rewritable CDs. The problem is so bad that i always have to copy softwares from cd rom to a flash drive before i could intall them on my system since it doesn't read files on CD-ROM. That's so tiring! more answers will be appreciated
