my drive C dosnt show

My C drive is gone. Im currently logged to a usb Mint OS, so I only have an OS because i made a bootable on that usb. I try to check for C:\ in the OS folders and its not there (nemo cant handle c locations). Im begining to think its a hardrive problem. Before all this happened, I was logged in to my win 8 partition. it went to sleep and became unresponsive. had to hold the power button to hard shutdown, then the booting screen poped and no booting options were present. I booted the mint OS on the usb drive and found there's no C drive, so I cant even install because I only have 3 Gb

aditional info: Its an ASUS Laptop. No clue as to how it could have disconected if it were to be a hardware problem...
