my HDMI cable wont send sound

my HDMI cable wont send sound fro my r9 ASS 270 going to an Toshiba 40l 1333d,its on HDMI 1 on the TV source list and iv tried going to the control panel in the PC under hardware and sounds then to manage audio devices It clearly shows the TV and i sert it to default with no avail getting sound from my separate microlab speakers that are plugged into my gigabyte sniper micro atx mobo.please help

Some HDMI cables don't send sound. In fact, some HDMI ports don't send sound. Generally, early on in the HDMI ports and cables, they didn't send sound. Most nowadays will. May want to check into whether your port/cable can deliver it.
